23The sons of half the tribe of Manasseh lived in the land of Bashan as far as Baal-Hermon, Senir, and Mount Hermon; they were many.24These were the heads of their fathers' houses: Epher, Ishi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremiah, Hodaviah, and Jediel—mighty men of power, men of renown, heads of their fathers' houses.25They transgressed against the God of their fathers and prostituted themselves after the gods of the peoples of the land, which God had destroyed before them.26The God of Israel stirred the spirit of Pul king of Assyria and the spirit of Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria, and he exiled them—the Reubenites, Gadites, and half-tribe of Manasseh—to Halah, Habor, Hara, and the river of Gozan, where they remain to this day.
